Strong Roots in Northeast Mississippi

Kelly Mims is a Lee County native who graduated
 from Plantersville Junior High and Tupelo High
School. Kelly finished college at Mississippi State
University and married his high school sweetheart,
Lynn Simmons. Kelly graduated from the Ole Miss
 School of Law and returned to Tupelo where he and Lynn are now raising four children, Parker (18), Carson (16), Jared (14), and Avery (13).

Proven Service to Our Country
Kelly has spent nearly 30 years serving our nation
 in the United States military. He is currently
 a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves where
 he commands more than 200 drill sergeants from 
across four states. In 2005, Kelly was deployed
 during Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the 155th Armored Brigade of Mississippi National Guard, based in Tupelo.
Guided by Faith
Kelly serves as a Deacon at the Northeast Church of Christ where he attends service three times a week. Kelly and Lynn have served as foster parents with the Lee County Department of Human Services for years and have adopted one child from foster care.
